I don't care for Peralta.
I don't like the steroid issue, so I'm fine with passing on him.
I like JJ Hardy the most personally out of the realistic options out there. However, he is a FA soon anyway so it might just be wise to wait. Then again, since he is going to be a FA soon and since the O's have Machada, we may be able to get him in a trade. We could trade Flores and a minor league starter to get him. Or we could even trade Murphy to get him. Flores/Murphy are both 3b options and if we include a SP, we could probably get it done. I like Hardy so I wouldn't be against it and he won the GG two years in a row with plus power offensively. I like him.
I would take Drew, but I don't know if I can see us signing him nor do I particularly like him all that much as a player.
Fluid is the right word to describe it. That is what I was going for.
I just can't see how anyone would cement Lagares or even CY into "everyday roles" with someone like EYJ as strictly a bench player with little to no playing time.
Its an open book. I'd imagine that Lagares and CY will get the first nods, but EYJ will still get used and will get his opportunities as well.
We are in agreement with the OF situation.
On another note, IDK how I feel about Murph getting traded. He isn't great, but his offense is still important for this team. I guess we could always role with guys like EYJ and Flores at 2b, but neither are proven everyday guys. Murphy is a proven everyday bat who can be solid for us and I feel nervous about losing that in a team that lacks those types to begin with.
This is what I am saying regarding EYJ. He has value as a leadoff hitter and I think Terry recognizes that.
EYJ has a .325 OBP and has done even better than that in stretches (2011 and 2012). If he is getting on base at a decent clip, he has value in this lineup and will get some playing time is all I was saying.
I also can't see Lagares playing everyday if he doesn't improve his offense. IDC how good his defense is, a .280 OBP hitter with little power is not an everyday player. He will be given his chance to show his worth, but if he fails to improve, things will change regarding this role on the team.
For CY, it depends on performance as well (especially agains RHP). He will get plenty of opportunities early in the season, but if it doesn't work out then he also won't play everyday.
Also, to go back to that topic... I'm interested in what you think. Do you really think that Lagares or even CY have established and solidified everyday roles already? I just don't see it.
Especially with the fact that we have seen EYJ get on base at a decent clip for extended stretches throughout his career and the fact that we have the depth/flexibility to play all these guys for their optimal usage.
What do you think?
We were having a good debate about the OF situation.
But when Stuna and I debate, sometimes I can't help it when he does his flip flop thing or starts going hard with his opinions as if his way is the only way... and that this is how things will play out.
I can't help myself sometimes and I won't apologize for that.
That is the only thing I did to "insult" a poser in that exchange. But in all honesty, that is a weak insult and I don't even know if that counts as an insult.
Its just Stuna being Stuna and me pointing it out. It get annoying and sometimes I have to stop biting my tongue every now and then.
Pretty sweet. Saw Roger Waters solo tour in '00. Would kill to see Pink Floyd in the 70's.
Fair enough. I was going to mention Meddle as well. A very underrated album of theirs. Fearless is one of my favorite songs ever....and Echoes is a straight trip. I'm definitely not a big of their theatrical stuff either; unlike most Floyd fans, I'm not really in to The Wall.
Just tore open an Amazon package with this shirt in it and threw it on instantly.
Division Bell?!?!?! Wow. Hoping you are kidding but really doubt it. They have a ton of great work but my go to album of theirs as of late is usually Animals.
Nice Floyd sig.
Hey, the help is appreciated. I can't be online all the time.
