The last time we went was rather eventful. I would like a chance to get further than we did in 2005.
I think you are right since it leads to the conference playoffs, but I do get why common opponents is better for a divisional matchup.
I would like a scenario where the Broncos play (beat) the Raiders in the playoffs. That would be great, especially since we would host it.
I think common games are used in two team matchups because they are a better way of judging which team played better between the two. Three or four it is probably different because that is going to be for a wild card, so representing the conference as opposed to the division is more important. But I think that would be a weak defense on why they are different.
At the moment, all I have to go on is that NFL.com lists us higher on the standings, which I think means that we hold the edge at some level. Either way, it should be a hell of a fight. Especially since its both divisional games.
The common games one comes before SOS. However, if you look at my post in the Bronco forum (I went into more depth than I did in the Raider forum), I made a mistake, I misread the schedules and wrote down that you guys lost to the Jets (which isn't true). So it could likely go down to the SOS as you said.
