View Full Version : Is There Anyone On Earth Who Dislikes Curly Fries?

Okay, so today I was grocery shopping and as I walked by the frozen food section I saw them. I saw the curly fries. I hadn't seen curly fries in months seeing as the grocery store by my apartment didn't carry them. I bought 3 bags and immediately went home and ate a full bag for dinner.

My roomate came home about an hour later, opened the freezer and saw the bags.

"Man, you got curly fries?!?!?! I haven't had them in ages. I love curly fries."

He didn't even bother asking and went down to the grocery store to grab a bag of his own.

Shortly after that his girlfriend came over and saw him eating his curly fries.

"Holy ****!"

She ran over and started eating his curly fries.

So I started to wonder if there really is anyone who dislikes curly fries? I've never heard anyone say they have. I know some people here will say they do to spite me but seriously, do any of you dislike curly fries?

Wait, hold up... people like waffle fries? Seriously?

Of all the types of fries... waffle fries?

Steak cut fries. Normal french fries. Thin french fries. Curly fries. Crinkle cut fries.

They're all better.

Thin and crinkle are ****ing terrible.

Buffalo chips > waffle > sweet potato > steak > regular

Waffle fries suck simply because they're always overcooked and dry because of the way they're cut.

Says the guy who mentioned crinkle fries.

You can't like waffle fries and dislike curly fries. You just happen to prefer one over the other.

I'm not a big fan of them, but they're higher up on the fries scale than Waffle. At least crinkle cut taste like potato.

Prefer Canola by a mile

The biggest issue with Canola oil is it doesn't last as long. (i.e. you can't really use it more then 2 or 3 times) But yeah Canola is king for french fries

That's why my friend uses vegetable oil, reusable factor. He also mentioned peanut oil as an alternative.

I double-fry my Yukon potato fries. They have to be crispy.

Sweet potato fries done properly could be the best. People always ask me why they get soggy. Well they don't if you do them properly.

After the first fry you want to shove them in the Freezer for about 20 mins short of freezing, Stop them from continuing to cook. Then when you go for the second fry add a little corn starch, just a splash. And go for it.

Curly fries > steak fries > normal fries

But above all of them in the fried potato family are tots. Tots and hash browns are so much better than french fries.

Tots/puffs are good, but they remind me of the dining halls in college, when you'd come in hung over on a Saturday or Sunday morning for brunch, and I just want to puke when I smell the food.

curly fries are ok, but not in the same hemisphere as waffle fries, shoestring fries, natural cut fries, tater tots, hash browns and even latkes (potato pancakes)

Only curly fries I like are the seasoned ones from Hardee's/Arby's. Waffle fries still trump them though.
