Tonight the Devils will be play in Atlanta against the Thrashers before traveling back to New Jersey for a home game tommorow. The Thrashers, (18-29-5), may seem out of it and look like a team to look pat but their last matchup was a different story with the struggling Thrashers beating New Jersey 4-0.

This will be the fourth game between the two teams this year. The first two were played with Martin Brodeur in net for a 1 goal shutout and a 6-1 blowout win. All three games were clearly dominated by one team and although in now way should we or the Devils look ahead but this should be a Devils' win.

In Atlana's fast five games they have but one win which came in New York against the Rangers on Tuesday, 2 of the four losses were shutouts against Ottawa and Pittsburgh.

On the Devils' side of the puck, the team must maitain solid play throughout the game. In the past few games the Devils have had all their solid hockey come near the end of the third period which resulted in end of game comebacks as well as failed comeback attempts.

The three number one stars in the other matchups this season were Brodeur, Parise and Lehtonen. The Devils' need to have the lead after the second period and would like to have the first goal quick and early in the game in order to win. They also need to keep Captain Ilya Kovalchuk out of the net as he can be a dangerous offensive threat.

Scott Clemmensen should be playing tonight and is running out of time in the spotlight. With two games in two I would not be surprised to see Kevin Weekes tomorrow but Sutter tends to stick with only one goalie so who knows.

Another player to watch is Travis Zajac who has been very close to scoring goals in the past few games and just misses and hits the post in situations which may win or tie the game.

Great bounceback win for New Jersey last night. Coming off an all around poor peformance by the team against Washington and Kevin Weekes inserted in front of the pipes the Devils played strong, granted it was against the last place Thrashers. Last time they got shutout by the same team so a win here was not guaranteed.

Everybody played strong in the first period and that is where the Devils won the game, unfortunately Colin White was injured hopefully not for too long. Two other main injuries came against the Thrashers in Brodeur and Rolston so hopefully this will not happen to White.

Hero- Kevin Weekes stepped back into the game and played marvelous. He continues to show why although Clemmensen earned his spot around here to back up Brodeur and split time when he comes back Kevin can play too.

Zer0-Johan Hedberg of the Thrashers simply lost the game for their team letting up 3 goals in the first and later being pulled from the game.

Notes: New Jersey killed off all seven penalties that they had against them last night! Hopefully Colin White is okay although he probably won't play tonight but maybe Weekes will play again, who knows.
