Keep up the weak coaching Mcmillian and you'll be the next coach to go. You had them playing as a team for 20 games and now your pg only wants to shoot and only Pryzbilla wants to play defense, Oden is getting worse every game. Yeah your doing a marvelous job Mcmillian, what are we 18-12 now, about the same as last yr.

God, the Blazers (especially Oden) are weak in pick-and-roll defense. McMillan has to work his team on that.

And Oden, come on, a 5'10" guy is running all over you.

Blake is worse, he's becoming a Starbury too, doesnt want to pass the ball in the post because he's to worried the ball wont come out to him so he can jack up a three. Problem I have with him is he's the pg and he cant drive at all with the ball and that limits the amount of easy baskets we get when a defender would normally go for the double team but with Blake teams dont even worry about it.

what are you talking about? Blake is a great passer, if he can get a good screen he drives to the hoop and makes a layup or makes a great pass to Oden, LMA or roy on the wing. HE did it a lot last night.

Blake has been playing great this season.

All the Blazers have played better than I expected with the exception of Frye and Webster. There are many worse starting PGs in this league. I couldn't be much happier with this team.

I agree Blake has had a personal best season and has improved his shooting, defense and he takes care of the ball well but he isnt very good at interior passing.

Against a good defender he gets stalled up often and rarely with throw it down low unless the Blazers clear the lane and its a one on one post move. When he comes off a pick he will generally pass further out than attack the basket or just shoot it. He doesnt get the bigs involved in the game and rarely will pass it in to the post.Blakes perimeter passing skills are really good though.

Aldridge usually gets the ball from him in the mid range jumpshoot area and then drives or backs down his defender on his own. Look at how easily Rodriguez gets into the post, all Im saying is Blake needs to work on his interior passing and attack the rim more instead of taking so many jumpshots.

Look at how often Roy goes to the rim this yr compared to last yr. Roy's penetrating has contributed to Blakes 3pt percentage rise with all the open looks he gets because of defenders double teaming Roy and how many more free throws Roy shoots.

Blake lacks true pg passing skills and is obviously more comfortable when Roy handles the ball and he becomes the shooter. Blake rarely handles the ball in the 4th, other than bringing it across half court and passing it off to Roy. Roy is our best player but he's not a pg and by Blake handing the reins over in the 4th, says to me Mcmillian doesnt believe in him enough to lead the team through tough times late in games(Mcmillian trusts in him as a shooter for sure but not as a playmaker and ).

Theres point guards then theres point guards that are playmakers 1st tier(Paul,Williams,Harris,Parker,Rose,Nash,Kidd,B Davis,Billups) then theres a second tier of playmakers like (Bibby,Hinrich,Rondo,M Ellis,Calderon,A Miller) and a few others then you have point guards(all the rest).

I like Blake and he brings alot to the Blazers and I dont want him traded but I dont think a starting pg turns over his ballhandling duty to anybody and he needs to get used to running the pick and roll with Oden, Pryzbilla and LA. A pg's main duty is to run the offense and distribute the ball and create easier scoring opportunities for teammates and expose mismatches, shooting should be and after thought.

With improved talent and being a fulltime starter you'd think Blake would've increased his assists over last yr. The only thing to increase is his scoring average.

No doubt Blake has worked his but off and deserves his minutes but he's not a playmaker and that is most likely what Pritchard is trying to acquire. Check this out

If Pritchard had headed the draft in 2005 we'd have a Paul/Roy backcourt(thats just sick to say) because Pritchard tried to get Nash/Patterson to draft him but they were sold on Webster.

Pritchard takes over and says Paul or Williams will be how we go after this summer in FA, they both re up.

Next Pritchard tries to acquire Devin Harris(this one kills me cause we almost made this one) now look at him "all star",we were a little thin last yr and Harris was ailing or we'd done this.

This yr we've asked about Bibby,Felton(he's ok in my opinion but this would likely involve Wallace),Hinrich,Harris again and Kidd.

It looks to me Pritchard wants to get a playmaker who can lead this young talented team and with him. I think a vet playmaker solidifies us until Bayless can be taught the ropes or a young playmaker that will become the longterm answer along with Bayless.

Blake and Rodriguez are temporary in reality(fan favorites yes but temporary). Portland didnt acquire Bayless for nothing and by the end of next yr Im sure he will be more than ready to claim most of the backup minutes to whom ever we can land via trade or FA or even surprise everyone and be the man(Bayless is a fierce competitor and wont take a back seat for long)in 2yrs. Well, we will see what happens by the trade deadline.

With all our talent and depth, draft picks, expiring contracts and overseas talent we may very well get an impact player at the point before the trade deadline. Hey A Mopp let me know what you think do we stand pat or make something happen?
