Browns KR Josh Cribbs is reportedly unhappy with his contract.
Cribbs signed an ill-advised six-year extension in 2006 and has easily outperformed it on special teams. The deal pays him barely more than the minimum in each season. Cribbs has very little leverage right now and the Browns are likely to address Sean Jones and Braylon Edwards before him.

when it comes down to it u cant keep paying a guy that has such a big impact on the team minimum level. If he stays at where he was last year then he def deserves more cash u cant ignore it.

 this is classic after the signing of Hester. Cribbs is just a returner IMO, no where near the skill level of Hester who is trying to be a good WR.

I love when people with absolutely no leverage try to get new contracts

Wow, i cant believe he expects them to do this. If they cave into him i will have no respect for their organization. Let him whine about it a little bit.

He has no leverage. He does nothing they can't have someone like Jerome Harrison do a slightly worse version of.

Harrison is a much inferior returner than Cribbs. But as you said, the difference between one returner & another is not as great as at other positions.

If he has another great year I think the Browns will re-work his contract, but they most likely won't do that before this season.

Cribbs isn't gonna be a douche and hold-out he is gonna let his agent work on it while he is playing the game. Phil Savage said he will get a new contract by 2012.

Obviously, considering he already played in our first pre-season game.

He'll get a new contract before 2012, if he stays healthy. He will probably get one next offseason, if he comes close to duplicating last year's performance.

Another money crazy player wanting to get more money so in another two years he can complain and get more money. That's how it works.

It seems that Cribbs & Winslow are both going to have to wait until next offseason to talk about restructuring their contracts.
